Afternoon

I'm back need advice few weeks back wrote a thread about my cousin's car, that need to be repaired in it was in front accident. The car is Kia Picanto 2013 model, repair material and labour coming down at R28 000 the quotation valid for 14 days.

To cut the story short we looking at other options, to sell the car for R50 000 then add R10 000 or R15 000 and buy 2010/13 Hyundai i10.

Something to move her from point A to point B while she is still sorting her finance. How is Hyundai i10 any known issues with the car, most of the i10s we saw are over 100 000km. Also saw Suzuki Swift 2009/11 for R65 000 but the garage names are bit dodge.

The sad thing is the Kia is still in good condition with full service history and 76000km on the clock. Just need those front repair to be roadworthy.

I have never come across any bad stories about the i10, my colleague has one and it seems to be serving him well so far.

Hi

My mom drives the 2010 i10, Over 100k km on the clock, no issues so far. Those little engines are wonderful!

Good luck, I think you are making the right choice by selling the repaired one, and buying an i10. Just do all the pre-checks on the vehicle before the purchase.

The money you'll lose in the sale and the money you will be putting in will add up to the R28 000+-
Rather instead of buying get the Picanto fixed as you know what you have - My 2c

That advice have been given before it seems OP's cousin chose to ignore rational and sound reasoning and went with an emotional decision. All the things that needs fixing would have been fixed and the car would be okay, but they are choosing to sell at a loss and incur even more debt.
