Hay guys,

I just wanted to share my build with you guys. I was a console gamer, but made the switch earlier this year and I will never look back!

Born Date: 26 July 2015
CPU: i5-4590
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper TX3 EVO
MOBO: ASUS H81M-K
GPU: PowerColor R9 280X
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3-1600
SSHD: 1TB Seagate
SSD: Samsung EVO 850 120GB
PSU: Corsair VS550
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Display: DELL S2340L
Case: CM Elite 371 w/ seven fans (six of them are blue LED fans)
Colour Theme: Black & Blue (only on the outside lol)

Keyboard: Old office Sahara KB
Mouse: ROCCAT Kone Pure (brand new)
Headset: Razer Orca (2yrs old)
Mouse pad: SteelSeries 9HD (brand new)

I am really impressed with my build, also my budget was based on a next-gen console price's tag.
I sold my PS3 for my monitor, and the case I bought two years ago with all the fans, so I only bought the components.

I must say my case, in that price range, was the best cooling option BUT... It lacks cable management. Lucky nobody will see inside the case. Secondly I made a mistake on going with a micro ATX motherboard, because it is really hard in connecting the components to the board. Everything is so tight!

FUTURE UPGRADES

As you guys noticed, I am only running on a SSD, for now it is fine for me. I am only playing BF4 comp and I have a external HDD if I want to jam something else. So for the future I want to buy x2 Samsung EVO 850's 256GB in RAID 0.

I want to upgrade my case to a Corsair 450D with a red & black colour theme.
With a white LED strip inside.

[-]I am really keen to Crossfire, so I will need to upgrade the following:
1.) ASUS H81M-K ---> Z97
2.) 550W ---> 750W modular
3.) Buy another PowerColor R9 280X
[/-]
After the above upgrades, I will pick up another Fury 8GB RAM.
A new gaming KB and a 144Hz 1440p monitor.

Please note that I am only 17yrs old and the future upgrades will take a LONG time.

Thanks for reading my gaming story/life! :)
*pics will be posted shortly*

UPDATE: The FUTURE UPGRADES is not in a specific order.
UPDATE: SSHD added.

Nice start.

2 Samsung EVOs in Raid is really not necessary.

I would suggest you get a better keyboard.

Thanks! Really? Keyboard I will wait until Christmas maybe, because of the rAge expo.

+1 for advice

I will most probably look at the SteelSeries APEX RGB KB. But monitor... Eish, that is another story lol.
@HavocXphere will do!

That is a nice rig. :)

Be sure to participate over at mygaming as well.

I think MyGaming's forums have pretty much crumbled?

@OP. Decent rig, should last you a while even without those upgrades. As for a 144Hz 1440p monitor, that's going to set you back a pretty penny. You're looking at something like the Asus ROG Swift then. I'd suggest a normal 1440P panel like the Dell U2515H, great and games look rather decent on it.

@Enigma_ I totally agree with that comment. Thanks man, yeah the upgrades is only long term plans, I am not hasty to upgrade. I am actually pretty impress with my current old KB.

Hands down DELL makes sexy, thin & sleek monitors. They also have brilliant display!

This monitor will be my best choice - http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-24GM77-B
Sure, it is not 1440p, so what. I want the refresh rate.

Off topic question: Are you in Enigma?? Lol.

Rather than current raid SSD wait for Samsung 950 pci-e SSD. Is 5x evo performance so will kill a raid setup!

@Vaughan hear what you are saying, but that performance comes at a price, a high one too!

Our specs are very similar. The 280X is a rebadged HD7970 GHz Edition.

My mechanical keyboard is the Gigabyte Osmium. I bought mine from Rebel Tech for R1.5k over a year ago and I see the price hasn't increased much. It's much cheaper than the Corsair K70 and yet just as good.

But anyway, welcome to the PC gaming community! Once you step into the light you can never go back to the dark side.

haha. Not only is myg alive & well...the average quality of the interactions (and users) there are easily triple that of mybb (no joke). [Except technical stuff like ADSL etc - mybb naturally leads there]

Its a low volume forum certainly but to claim that it has crumbled....lol.

@Bryn Cool beans man! Yeah, that is right. Uhm, this is my opinion, but I don't want to spend so much on a peripheral. I am a big bargain hunter, to support that - my PC cost me R7000 (components only). But, I have contacts... I got my ROCCAT Kone Pure for R750.

@HavocXphere I'll post my gaming build at mygaming tomorrow lol.

You not gonna like this but I think that's the wrong way going about things. Rather flog the 280x and get yourself a single high powered gpu. No need for a new MB, no worries about power consumption or gpu drivers performing optimally across multiple gpus.

Sit down & work out the costs involved before you go down this road...

@ponder I agree what you are saying, but I still want to do it. :p
If I quickly get the cost, I will look at around R5000, which I won't argue with you is not a wise idea in doing. STILL... It will look badass!
But yeah, I agree 100% with you.

EDIT: I can get a beast GPU on Carb for that money

I can concur! I haven't been active on MyBB for years, yet I enjoy the MyG environment very much. It's much more positive and has a better sense of community there.

@FarligOpptreden Cool beans man, looking forward in meeting senior mygaming members on the forum.

@Rickster That a good comment?? I will upgrade to a prettier board later on. Lol.

EDIT: Pretty happy with my ASUS H81M-K board, but I don't like his small size as well his lack of SATA III ports.

I haven't bothered with mygaming really because the mod ignores my mail. I need to change my username but hey... That guy
