Yesterday I headed over to my Microsoft Account to see the status of my kid's Xbox Live Gold Account to see that magically since last month I "purchased" a year subscription to Microsoft 365 for R1399.00

I have never bought this product before and it is set to renew in a year.

I am pissed, not so much about the money, but WTF gave them the right to do this?

When I tried to cancel it, I get told along the lines of "Too Late, you bought this product for a year"

I have no idea how this landed up on my billing subscription and want to cancel it.

Who or where do I contact locally in ZA in order for them to incur my Monday Morning Wrath?

I thank you!

Does anyone know what number I would need to call Microsoft about removing my subscription completely? And do they work on a Saturday?

OK. So an update.

Microsoft SA support number is 0860225567

And they're closed over weekends.

How old are your kids? Did you perhaps have the 30 day free account - and could one of them have agreed to the message that pops up when the time has expired? If they are at school - and doing computers - they will need it. The benefit is that it can be installed on 5 devices. I have never been billed by MS without giving them permission. I have had two Azure free subs lapse - if you don't agree to paying for it - it just goes away

Yeah, Microsoft don't just charge stuff to your account, so someone has done so. Log the call with them and ask them to cancel and reverse it.

True, delete all you have been testing with and you're left with the free tier until it expires in a year.

Aye! This bothered me a wee bit! The lad on the Xbox live is 12 ,my card details are setup on his box.

I am going to go along with the chance that either he or one of his two sisters somehow did this, (All in denial) and just turn off recurring billing .

Do that. It really is my one subscription that has helped me so much as matrics needed it this year being stuck at home. So two of my kids have copies, my mom uses one and I have one on my laptop and one on my desktop. And with all the extras I have on the E3 license - I am really happy.

The worst part is that sometimes they are telling the truth....
