I am on the weekender contract and due for upgrade apparently. (I am sure it was weekender plus?! they call it weekender everyday now?)

It appears that the best phone I can get on a weekender is the i-mate JASJAM according to the Vodacom website.

I am looking for a business tool, something that I can actually use a little more than just a phone. At the moment I have a SE K800i which is a good phone but not a great way of storing appointments, organizing etc...something which I am sure a Windows Mobile phone can do better. A camera and fancy hardware is not too important but good software is :) pity the i-phone is such a misssion :/ (when are we actually getting them?)

So what are your opinions on the i-mate JASJAM? Is there something better available I don't know about?

I was looking at the new HTC diamond but only dreaming it would be available on a weekender, even as an upgrade :p *drools* :)

There is also the Palm Centro, but it does not have Windows Mobile and the software looks cheap to me :/ thoughts?

I see on these forums there are a few mixed reviews about the JASJAM :/ the specs to me look hot though even for a phone as old as that. According to one website the JASJAM has HSDPA as well :)

EDIT: Even though the Palm Centro gets a better overall rating on gsmarena and is newer than the i-mate JASJAM I still prefer the specs of the i-mate JASJAM. I know nothing of the Palm OS though.

Oh this sux.

Just spoke to a Vodashop guy who says the I-Mate series has now been discontinued. It was a limited time offer :/ don't know if he meant indefinately or just on the weekender contract.

Well now it appears the best phone I can get is the HTC touch which is still not too shabby and comparable spec wize to the I-Mate I was looking at. :)

Only downside is there is a pay in of around 800 bucks, but this is ok for me as soon as pay day arrives,

Well it will have to be the HTC touch then :) somebody pls stop me if you know any better :)

I personally dont like HTC's. I had the tytnII but it is too big and not user friendly.
I retired the tytn and got a E51 and never looked back!

Have a look at the HTC Polaris as well - very nice phone, though I don't know what it costs

Well the best phone I eventually found for the weekender contract is the Sony Ericsson p1i. Quite a nice phone IMO and I have no issues with it so far :)

Jonny maybe you should see how much you spend a month on ur weekend contract & upgrade it. I found it was very expensive to use a weekender contract - always paid way too much so I moved to a talk package (240) and saved a lot and got a better phone. Weekender ratea are similar to prepaid. You get screwed real good when u make peak calls.
