I am getting Fibre!!!

I have to be thankful for the ANC IFP coalition for fibre rollout it seems. The ANC have have our ward to the IFP and surprise surprise as soon as this happens fibre starts rolling out within a week.

The way things are going with the contractors, (apparently 2 contractors have been fired) I'm not going to get fibre until sometime towards the end of Jan/early Feb. Frustrating because they were working one road away from me last Monday and by that Wednesday trenching has stopped completely in my area

Order placed on Sunday seen as I was checking the openserve coverage map like every day since the put the poles up let me now wait for the ONT to be installed wonder how long that is going to take.

I hope I can get it before the network freeze on the 16th December :)

My fibre lasted a week before the first problems started this afternoon during the F1 qualifying. So now I'm without internet

It's gonna happen quite a bit while they do installations. Log a ticket.
I did phone support and spend about 30 minutes on the phone. They will refer it to the faults department.

We had rain and lightning this afternoon and our power went off for a few minutes.

When the power came back on the fibre stopped working. ONT and router is working.

It connects but there is no internet access.

Fibre is coming to my complex next week.

Yeeessssssss!

After fighting with the bodycorp since November last year to get fibre to my house, Vodacom refused to install to my house even after I finally got approval from bodycorp to go ahead. Vodadollars then changed their tune and said they won't install until the whole complex signs up.

Long story short, both parties being pathetic, suddenly got a message yesterday they will start installing to the whole complex next week. (A week or two ago the complex said they refuse to use Vodacom) .

My house last on the list. (of course).

They will only provide the list of ISP's we can arrange fibre from once Vodadollars are finished installing.

So Richards Bay is quite lucky when it comes to connectivity.

First came Frogfoot then Vodacom started pushing and installed fibre. Now Openserve is trenching and installing fibre. Richards Bay now has will now have Frogfoot, Vodacom or Openserve to choose from.

If you have Frogfoot, I can't say you are lucky. I'd say unlucky. They are worst internet connection I ever had.

They started trenching yesterday and they already ducted and filled in most of the trenches. Things are moving fast. (Though they'll probably need to do the opposite side of the road next)

Edit': why are there two ducts?
