i am happy with Virgin

use them for internet for two years now, all services have problems Vodacomsa and MTN - just glad not to be paying Telkom, there are only so many BMWs that you want to contribute to

I can say that I had a laugh that Virgin store in East Rand Mall, cand sell airtime , but every other shop can! incl Woolworths

Here is why I am happy.
I get help -fast when I call in.
I get treated properly when I go into a store because they are not trying to help 100 other people.
I just like things a little calmer, im not good with stress.

... and you work for them?

I dont work for them, I actually dont think they pay well, although I might be wrong.

I am also happy with virgin. Been with them almost 2 years now. My phone bill never comes to more than R400 and I use it ALOT. My fiance is with MTN and she doesnt use her phone half as much as I do and hers comes to R600. I think that is insane. Dont really use it for the internet but when I do I dont have issues. Never had any customer service problems with them either.

how can some 1 be happy when their off peak call rates are allmost double that of MTNand internet 100% slower than vodacom and MTN.

MTN anytime charges R2.35 p/min regardless whether peak or off peak. also once your included minutes are finished you are charged R2.75 anytime of the day. Its a total rip off. With Virgin you are charged R2.35 (depending on contract, could be cheaper) for the 1st 5 min of the day, there after R1.55 and that is to any network. Also its per second billing. The best part is, Virgin to Virgin calls are 99c per min all the time (I know lots of people on virgin).

I also keep a vodacom prepaid phone for my off peak calls and for receiving calls. So basically I get the best rate regardless of time of day.

For internet, I use a 3g card.

In this country you need to be informed about telecommunications costs or you will end up ripped off and with overly high accounts. I have compared all the different cellphone packages/contracts and what I mention above seems to be the best solution. In my opinion anyway. No, I do not work for virgin, if I find another cheaper solution for my cellphone calls with any other company, I will move in a hear beat.

My problems with Virgin:

1. They did not clearly state when I took out my 2 contracts that the the Unlimited SMS packages uses per minute billing. Yeah, I know it is in the fine print but, what can you do. That is one of the main reasons I wanted to go with them.

2. They give the option in the sim menu of airtime transfer, but when you call them, they say you can't. Maybe for prepaid only?

3. My wife and I were both on Virgin and she could not call me 90% of the time from her phone. I canceled her contract and took one out at Vodacom to fix the issue. And lo and behold! After I canceled her contract, she could call me without problems...

Anyway, their closest "Virgin" shop is 250km from me, and I am not going to drive that far to RICA my sim. Fortunately my contract expires before the RICA deadline...

hmmmmm... is it their shop front you are happy with? Do they have HSDPA or 3G that works? Unlike Vodacom?

hmmmm... let me know. I will try anything right about now... I think the tourism slogan for SA should be -

"Come see how a 4th world country operates - if your 3G modem is NOT stolen at the airport you won't be able to use it anyway - welcome to the bush!!!"

Their data fees are/were reasonable back in the day for low data transfer - pity about no 3G yet though.

i am happy with Virgin
yes i am.
I have nothing to complain about, thanks!

Ha, you've obviously never had to complain or get something out of them. Good luck when you do...they are probably the worst company in the country and run by absolute cretins.

I'm also having a great time with Virgin. By far the best service provider for me between them, MTN, and Vodacom. I've had pretty shocking experiences with Vodacom in particular...

I had to complain about how they had the bill setup. But everything was sorted out and I'm happy.

I am also happy with Virgin Mobile

I must also admit that I am happy with Virgin Mobile.

I have been with them for a while now, I think about a year and I have had no problems.

Sometimes I can see the signal bar go right down and in some places it goes completely.

The truth is, their cheap data rates made me join, I left Vodacom and ported my number to Virgin Mobile.

Yes, they are small, but the Virgin brand is big! ;)
