I am on UUNETS uncapped ADSL and it is 100 times faster for web surfing downloading and general http, ftp access. Iburst doesnt compare in speed :(
This sucks :(

your iburst anyways, hah my baby would eat any uunet package for breakfast, unless they offser 5mbit now or something

i was on Datapro`s uncapped adsl (not to sure who their provider is) and it SUCKED so bad. My Iburst eats it!

I can confirm that UUNET's FTP/HTTP is much faster than my iBurst experience as well. However, I found their service a bit unstable for what I wanted, so I went for the Axxess account. Much nicer

i am on IS uncapped 512 adsl. flies :D although i must admit that i when i did test iburst, it was quick "when it worked". however, for me consistency is more important than speed. and that is why i handed my iburst test kit back and settled for a combination of adsl and 3g...

slimothy, so as you can see there are many other people that put reliability before some theoretical speed which can be reached only on a full moon :-)

yeah go ahead with 512 or 192 adsl, enjoy it, i'm happy for you all.... except MY connection is stable (can stay connected for as long as i want), MY connection is 1mbit all the time so I will stick with iBurst. If you prefer ADSL I don't care, its just as important to me as what colour your car is or what your favourite fast food chain is, Just love ADSL from the ADSL section.

Because look at the other posts on this forum, its all relavent information to me as an iBurst user, so since I'm happy with iBurst and I've decided I'm not going anywhere this ADSL stuff does nothing for me. It's the same with alot of people I'd assume, if they wanted ADSL or could have got ADSL they would have, but they didn't for whatever reason so again for the 15th time this week I say leave the iBurst forum to iBurst please.

Yeah - please post ADSL related topics in the adsl section - no need to discredit it by dragging it down to an iBurst level. :P

1mbit all the time? So you dont get iburst-capped-in-the-ass ? ;)

Slim - I agree. I am happy with iBurst and I will not take ADSL from Helkom(Spit) if you payed me. Its a principle thing :-)

I haven't said anything about ADSL!

I just said that reliability often is more important than speed!

Ok slimothy lets see, is there anyone else on this forum that has perfectly working iBurst 24x7 without ANY disconnections etc., and downloading 24x7 at 1 Mbps (+/- 20% is ok), like slimothy?

Because I don't know why, but I start suspecting that slimothy is the only one for whom it is working 100% of the time at 100% quality.

As far as I can see the other people do have problems, just for some problems like not being able to P2P, or disconnecting every now and then are not important enough, so they are happy ...

It is interesting to note that the forumites who continually post in a thread such as this, are responsible for keeping it alive & at the top of the thread queue...:)

I would say...bad luck....

Just for the record I am on iBurst. I was at a friends house lanning and did a bit of downloading. Though he is also having an issue now with dear old uunets mess with no international bandwidth.

My Iburst works fine 95% of the time and I get full speed also about 95% of the time. And I'm in a area that should have low signal. At a business about 1km closer to the closest base station they have to stick a pin in the external aerial socket to get good signal :(

Maybe I'm just lucky.
