I broke a PC :/

That depends on the requirements. For a standard desktop/office-use PC, you can get a 350W cheapie for R300-R500. For a gaming PC with new performance components, you'd need something like a decent 500W (and higher) unit, costing R700 - R1000.

You can buy a whole case with 300-400w PWR supply at the Boksburg fleamarket.

Start with basics, unplug all cards except graphics (on board?), Ram, CPU and keyboard, nothing else. Press F8 as system boots continually and see if it starts. While starting check if CPU fan runs. If system boot to menu we can continue the process. If not try another keyboard. If you still cannot get it to boot then someone with more experience will have to test it. You will have to swap parts to determine what failed. I recently had a PC with motherboard where the DAmn Cmos battery were shorted. Same problem and symptoms. They switched it off to move it and it never rebooted.

BTW if internal speaker is connected do you hear any beeps???

lol.I always tell my friends and clients that the only way to learn is to crash your pc manytimes and lots of blue screens to.This is actually a fact. Its like riding a bike, but with:Dpassion

Yes :) I had an old Celeron a long long while back that crashed at least ten times a day. I cannot say how many times I built that stupid PC up from scratch and took it apart again to see what was happening.

Well at least thanks to that I knew the inside of a Desktop with my eyes closed for many years to date. It turn out that blimey old Celeron had an overheating CPU that eventually gave up the ghost....who would have thought a Celeron overheating LOL  a tiny tiny part of the CPU was black and eventually did not work at all.

dislogged a fan maybe?

check the temp settings sounds like its gettin a bit warm

guess you not gettin laid anytime soon eh

ROFL :D:p:D

...move it back downstairs :)

it is a bit late now, but wouldnt it have been easier to take the wireless card to the pc, instead of taking the pc to the wireless card, especially considering you have an upstairs and a downstairs to contend with

hehe :D

move it upstairs then downstairs, then up again, but this time do it with passion.Everything will work fine

heh.. maybe he needs to do it in reverse... you know to reverse the process :D
