ok....i challenge any CEo / director of all major companies ( ie: Telkom, Neotel, MTN etc) to state what the benefits for the consumer will be once seacom arrives.

i know most of you.....ok...maybe this was a USELESS post......I meant ALL OF YOU big boys wont even post here, even know i know you guys read here.

We (the consumers) want some feedback. your excuses for not posting would probably be along the lines of......confidentiality disclosures, speaking under false presences, conceiling new competition against other companies....bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. We dont want to know exact prices/ packages, but we would like to know how are the consumers going to benefit from this? will there be cheap uncapped services, will we have much faster lines for cheaper prices, will internet services still be run by a monopoly, when are we likely to see changes etc.

We dont need to know all that private confidentiality crap, but we would like to start hearing that there will be change.

so...if any of you CEO's / Directors actually have the balls to actually say something then please....put some input in...even if it's a 1 line answer stating that we will see cheaper uncapped services this year etc, and please dont post here pretending ur a big CEO etc when u not cuz that would mislead people

of course there will be change (it's even in your sig)
it's the international bandwidth they've been waiting for, for years
we will see faster speeds and much larger caps
Telkom will now be able to roll out their ADSL2+/VDSL services (they've been upgrading their network for like 5 years now)

I can't wait :)

What good is having this awesome new international bandwidth pipe when the local loop infrastructure won't be able to cope? I mean during office hours peering between LOCAL isp's is awful, pings increase and rates decrease...

I like how snail lays down the gauntlet of challenge then hides behind "we" :P

Just be patient. Changes will happen and they definitely won't make it public knowledge in response to that kind of post!

lol, dude i dont care if i have to challenge them, or we have to challenge them. im just trying to get someone to say anything...give us an update, im not hiding behind anyone lol, but if u dont want to be part of it then dont stress about it lol, im just tired of hearing how we will always be getting faster cheaper internet, but it never happens

Good luck getting directors or CEOs of companies responding to your challenge :)

In this country you just gotta go with "wait and see".

Promises mean nothing. The only thing you can truely believe in this country is cold hard facts!
