So I did something foolish...

Somehow, in the cmd, I managed to mount onto another drive or something like that.

i.e. cmd /c <insert some text> %user_name%.

Now I cannot boot into windows. When I attempt a system restore point, it lists the restore points yet it fails to restore as it says that the source location no longer exists. and I noticed that the root drive changed from 'c' to 'd' as in d:/users/'username' etc.

Does anyone have any IDEA as to how to revert this foolish mishap?

for some reason this reminded me of a bash.org quote (been enjoying a bash quote app on android)

"l70uke: network connections says it cant find an IP address
dbbolton: open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
dbbolton: what happens
l70uke: "please enter disk into drive a"
dbbolton: what the F**K"

Starts a new instance of the Windows command interpreter

CMD [/A | /U] [/Q] [/D] [/E:ON | /E:OFF] [/F:ON | /F:OFF] [/V:ON | /V:OFF]
[[/S] [/C | /K] string]

/C Carries out the command specified by string and then terminates
Pretty much what you pasted above is that you carried out a command (which could be ANYTHING) and now it doesn't work anymore.

LOL, do you see the problem with that question?

Kinda like saying:
"I put <insert something here> in my car, now it doesn't start", how do I fix it?

Maybe you could recall the <insert some text> command?

Haha, no I know how bull**** my question is. But what the Librarian said, I think is correct. I'm gonna try out his solution today and get back to this forum.
