I got my ADSL on the 28th of October. By October 31 I have used my entire cap. Anyway, it is now the 10th of November, and my cap is full. I can only access local sites. Thank God for MyADSL.co.za and Hellkom.co.za!

Anyway, I just want to ask, is it normal to use so much traffic. 3 Gig in 10 days. I mean, Telkom litterally begged my to switch to ADSL because my Dailup costs were so high. I downloaded from p2p networks a lot. Much more than 10 gig a month. And now, because I obliged to their cries, I am now stuck with this pathetic excuse for a cap.

Not to mention, I cannot access my website, my business site and my blog. Oh, and did I forget to mention, my Gmail account.

i am completely useless now!

Please, tell me there is hope! Please! I don't think i am going to survive like this! I wish i could cancel but I have a 24-month contract which expires in...24 months!!!!!!!!!!! :'(

anyway, thanks for reading this....I am done complaining now....

WAIT! A MIRICLE! THAT IS WHAT IT IS! I just found out that it was Telkom's fault. I actually havn't used my cap...I justs couldn't access the international sites. YAY!

Sorry to hear that you got forced into the 2 year agreement.

If you leave your ADSL running at full capacity it can use 3GB in about 2 days.

I noticed that when I bought it. Anyhow, my problem is with the fact that I only saw Hellkoms warning AFTER I bought the contract. I might just cry!

make sure that you change your ADSL passwords on router root and login.

No offence but I'd be edgy about signing a 24 month contract for ANYTHING

It was compulsory, and at the time it was between them and MWEB, and they were out of the question. anyway, it was more of a spur of the moment thing. We went in for more info, and I can't remember what ahppened in that hour, but we came out with a 24 month contract....

Welcome to Telkom land, where the cost of broadband is something out of a horror novel.
