with windows xp 64 bit edition will games runfaster?

anyone know where i can get usb adsl modem with 64 bit drivers?

I have an AMD 64bit laptop (fresh from the US, HP Pavillion) - I'm not much of a gamer, so although I've loaded up tons of games - I don't really see a major difference in any game speeds. Only thing I notice is that the 64bit stuff makes the damn laptop much heavier than I expected. It came preloaded with XP home, although whether its a 64bit version or not, havent looked :P

it wont be 64bit LoneGunman, as far as I know there is only a proffeshional edition of Win 64. killadoob i reccomend just stick with normal win xp pro 32bit edition (normal 1) there is a huge probem with drivers for win xp 64. i reccomend to stay away!

If you run a 32-bit application , as most games are at the moment for the exception of a few like Farcry (Which has a 64-bit exe), on a 64-bit CPU running XP 64-Bit there is a good chance you will actually loose performance as the application runs in a sort of "32-Bit emulation". It will actually run slower.

Theres a article on anandtech.com about it.

not yet... but it seems games made from 2006 onwards will have 64 bit support in mind... John Carmack expressed interest in updating his latest ID engine for that... perhaps even Prey will have it built-in?

Yep, native 64 bit games will only start becoming common place around the time that Vista is released, stick with vanilla XP for now.
