So he does. I haven't the foggiest about that. I have a feeling that his motivation is to keep what he has gained to pass on to his kin, rather than to exact revenge. Based simply on my experience with transgressors I doubt if he thinks he has done anything wrong: he will have rationalised it to himself in some way.
