and I cant make up my mind. I keep thinking about all possible solutions and the possible outcomes for each solution and end up doing nothing.

How about listing them and maybe we can help you solve them one by one

You suffer from analysis paralysis, common syndrome associated with MBA graduates. Sometimes you just have to make a call and live with the consequences, just make sure you have an escape plan or someone to blame if things get hairy.

MBA graduates don't do analysis paralysis. They know everything, make quick decisions and learn how to delegate accountability when the decisions backfire. :D

this sounds like me! oddly enough, one of the decisions was whether to do an MBA or not. Whether to do the MBA in SA or try for one overseas

Almost all my decisions I overthink them. The only one's I manage to make a decision is when I do things on an impulse (e.g. I bought the raspberry pi on an impulse, and that was awesome! but things don't always end up awesome). I end up thinking the same thoughts in maybe 3 for months time on a cyclic basis. I was not always like this, I think...

when you guys make a decision? How do you determine it's the right one? You weigh the options vs benefits right? In my case it gets too complicated, I look at financial befits and break it down, I then look at the social benfits and break it down. I then try and project myself into the future and see how each decision/choice will turn out. In the end I end up thiking the same things over and over.

Forget about the crystal ball ... Have 2 criteria and base a decision on that. The outcome will be what it will be.

You need to learn how to sometimes flip a coin & live with the consequences ..

That said I usually draw up a list of pro's and cons and then go with the option which would give me .. instant gratification :o

Urgh you need to live a little!
Just make a choice and stick with it, if it was the wrong one then you will be better equipped next time to decide...

The point of life is to live, learn and experience different things. By over analyzing everything you end up not making choices at all, thus not experiencing and learning. Mistakes are a part of life, and our lives are led by the choices we make.

Maybe simplify things instead over complicating them by over analyzing. If you make a mistake, notch it up to experience, and move on.

Balance your choices by looking at the situation in its simplest form - if for example a financial decision is needed, speak to the experts for sound advice; its pointless going through every scenario if you don't have particular financial skills. You will then learn and retain the knowledge for future financial decisions...

We're only human, so live a little and don't get stuck with over analyzing everything - you'll miss out on so much and send yourself to an early grave. What will be will be...

;)
