i have to post this.

its fairly old news...

But for me it raises some VERY big safety concerns in terms of B pillars not being around for structural strength.

sorry man i am not a car things follower but quite liked that idea.

No problem at all boet...

Its nice to see it pop up every so often actually, reminds me of it, and I go investigate again..

But what I'm seeing still raises massive concerns for me in terms of the average car user.... since i tlooks like they cut out the b-pillar in that sedan with these fancy doors.

Also I'd prob freak out if my doors dropped like that :p

ha ha yeah you right about riding and the door opens like that and i also agree with you regarding a side hit on the car, what would happen then?

Agreed - no C pillar.

Wonder how sturdy is that car - seeing that the door uses a compartment underneath the seats to store itself.

Wonder if it is mechanically sound... espeically should you encounter bad roads on a regular basis.

Also, what do you do should the door develop a fault? And, most importantly of all - if you're in an accident and is knocked unconscious, and rescue workers need to get you out of the car, how are they going to open this door? (Under the assumption the door's mechanism is damaged, no power, etc).

Naaaaaaaah, old-fashioned cars for me, thanky00verramuch... :D
