I have Telkom signal and i keep getting disconnected with an sms saying i am using out of bundle data. But in fact I have a few gigs left or more. Telkom helpline says my signal is weak and that will happen when the signal is weak. Has anyone experienced this. I am in an area with low coverage but I am getting at least 2 bars on LTE and 3 on 3g. I haven't had this problem before and I'm starting to also think it could be a bug related to me topping up with Mo nice bundles. It mainly happens on the LTE connection, when I switch to 3g its a bit better but also just hits these blank spots where i lose connection without the signal strength changing. I'm using a ZTE router the small one.
I'm at a crossroads because my main internet bundle is a cell 20 gig peak 20 gig off peak for R300 which the connection is fine but is ending in June. .I was considering the telkom deal of 70 Gigs peak with 50 off peak and the new router for 450. Or alternatively i could pay R2300 installation for a local wireless company to be my ISP with a 4 meg download 2 meg upload for R600 150 gigs a weak softcap. I'm on a farm where the lines were stolen years back so my options are really limited.
Would the telkom B525 router provide a stronger signal than a mobile wireless router?
