So yesterday, pushing so hard for honor it struck me like a brick

Why am I doing all this, WOTLK is around the bend.... why do I farm honor and so forth at such a back breaking pace ?

I have decided to lvl as many classes as I can to lvl 70 before WOTLK hits. This instead of grinding honor and so forth. Gear will be worthless once WOTLK hit, honor will be reset, so why do all the effort ?

That being said: I'll now be lvl'ng my other chars

54 Warrior
30 Priest
34 Hunter
32 Mage
14 Lock - Started him last night :o

So I think I could get them all 70 or atleast very close to 70 before WOTLK.

Damn, that would rock having so much different classes to choose from at end game in WOTLK :D

What is your take on the current grinding ? Worthless ?

Same happened in TBC ;)

1000's of honor lost. The same will happen again

Erm no it didn't. My Rogue still has her pre-TBC honour.

Regardless of Wrath which is many months away 2.4 will make honour grinds a lot easier with the removal of diminishing returns so for the moment I'd recommend farming for gold or leveling alts unless you want a full kit of Season 1 gear.
It's still worth getting Arena points though as they're not reset with the new season.

Worthless? maybe...
The question rather should be, "what is fun for you?" I still love to get new S3 arena pieces even if it takes me 4 weeks per piece :( I love doing the odd Battle ground game. If I get a few guildies togehter we switch on TS and have a laugh over the game.

If you enjoy it more to level up alts, then go for it. I have 6 level 70s now and a 63 paladin, 45 priest...
Just dont make the game a job :D have fun with the leveling and have fun doing BG's, raids, arenas etc.

What I do and will do is play only the rested time on my alts, then have some fun in BG's or grind for some gold. Three days a week I raid, and one day a week I do arena games.

There will always be another expansion around the corner, rahter enjoy what u have now and enjoy the expansion when it is here. Having more chars at 70 wont hurt, but focussing on a lot of alts you neglect your main chars.

Regarding the reset of honor at expancion. I am quite unsure about that, but maybe they did reset it. Before TBC honor was really easy to get, but items costed 50k-77k honor. They prob did reset it or just adjusted it to fit with the system released with TBC.

I am on hiatus atm. Decided to work on an alt that will act as a cash cow and my main will just run instances / raid when I get time (I would like to take a moment to thank Eskom for all the additional hours required at work ... )

My resto shaman is a raidhealbot now, solely, after i realised that i hated pvp'ing/doing casual stuff with him. Healing blows. I've decided that for Wrath (which is probably at least 6 to 9 months away still), I'm going to prepare the 1 class that I've always wanted to play, but never have, because being needed for raiding meant always having to be a healer or tank. So I'm slowly taking my cute widdle undead warlock to 70... but i'm taking my sweet time getting there - zero rush, i level him when/if i feel like it. I know that even T6/ Season4 will be virtually obsolete 1 month after Wrath, so as long as I ding 70 a week or so before Wrath hits, I'm cool with it.
Until then, I'm totally twinking my lock out and abusing the battlegrounds at each bracket. That means a couple weeks of 10-19, then a couple weeks of 20-29, 30-39 etc. Then I'll probably 'settle' at 69 and grind honour for kicks until Wrath hits our shores, at which time I'll probably retire my healbot and focus on turning my warlock into a pve and pvp death machine. That way I also have a healer on standby should it ever be necessary.

Alternatively, if warlock doesnt turn out to be my thing, I'll just make a Death Knight when i get WotLK. I enjoyed tanking with my druid, so going back to a tank/dps toon would be cool.

you and 99.99994% people who play wow.....ahhh the joy!!

To be honest I've also thought about getting another toon to 70. My durid's gear is the best I can get without 75 badges (which I'll have in about 2 weeks) or going into The Eye etc.

My SP should be starting Kara soon but she already has crafted FSW set with the two battlecast pieces and just about the whole S1 pvp set.

At the moment I do the daily quests with both of them and then I just farm for my epic flyer on my SP.

End of 2006 (when tbc was about 2 b released)... every1 grinded honor 4 the pvp gear thinking "omg this will help me 2 lvl", sadly it didnt

So this time round i'm gonna farm GOLD (its the only stable mechanic in the game that wont get 'upgraded/changed or modified' in any way :)

I thought everyone did that?

If you're starting a new char (like I did in BC) grab low level quest items (like Goretusk Liver's in Westfall, etc) bags and gold.
Possibly stockpile trade skill items too if u plan on leveling a new skill.

Once 2.4 hits I'll start working on all of the above. Epic flyer is worthless until late Wrath so 5K gold is most likely better served as a small stockpile for while u level.

my firewall protects meh :p

@theshogun, what you say is true, if your making a new char... DK's will start high... Thats the only char i'm interested in creating in WOTLK

I have decided to join a reroll project that they have going on the forums. The difference is that its a bunch of hordies thats rerolling alliance. I dont know if I will stick with it, but I have always wanted to give alliance a try, so everyone welcome my new Night Elf druid named MelkTert.

Yeah I kno. I tend to horde stuff so even my pre-BC char's have a ton of mats. My shammy has tons of gems/mats/etc and I'm expanding my trove of goodies to include DPS Plate and a full kit of 18 slotters (already full on my Shammy).
I've practically abandoned any hope of getting my Epic Flyer because I've come to realise that as long as I hold on to every single item that looks like it will come in handy I will never get enough gold together for my mount.
I've hit 2K on several occasions only to then spend it on some item/enchant etc that I deemed a necessity.

Such is my curse. On the flip side, whenever my mates say "have you got X" the reply is normally "yes lots, how many do you need" :P
