Evening folks,

I'm getting one of these here K-Jam jobs this evening to test and was wondering if anybody here has used the Skype that apparently comes built in with wi-fi? How does it perform, if at all??

Thanks,

rasputyn

If...

If you have probs running skype, reset the unit - it chews RAM and the imates have downscaled to 64kb from 128kb... sad

Nope

Oki Doki, I hear it's got an SD card slot, does a decently sized card increase the performance, ITO how much it can run?

Cardslot is not RAM - it gives you more storage tho. Ram is fixed... i.e. for running apps. Too many apps and the system slows to a crawl and then falls over... reset... back to normal.

I've got a KJAM, added a 512Mb SD card for storage, and I must say it's quite cool.

I haven't tried Skype yet, I will give it a bash over wireless when I get home this arvy.

The processor on the I Mate Jam is not fast enough to handle Skype , The
I Mate PDA2 and Skype works very well

Hows skype on jasjar?
or my other option the nokia 9300i? (can't really compare this to a imate)

Skype on a PDA2K works, not brilliant but it is useable.

Voda, I've been doing some research and apparently it does do the trick, but only when Skype is the ONLY app running.

Why would they pre-install Skype if it didn't work anyway?
