Ok, so I'm completing a BComm degree through Unisa and thinking of doing a second Bachelor's degree afterwards either in Applied Mats or Computer Science. (Don't know if I should do a postgraduate something in Commerce...)

And honestly, I have no idea where these desires come from to do another degree. I mean, it's not like I have a passion for it. Maybe I just want to prove something to myself. Maybe it's pride: I always loved maths. Was my favourite subject at school. And I found out a guy who I went to school, who did Maths at standard grade is now completing his PhD in Science (something).

So what do you guys think? Crazy? Crazy pride?

What would you do in my shoes?

Ever contemplated doing another degree straight after finishing one?

Is your real name Samuel Sterns or Reed Richards? Been exposed to any gamma radiation or been taking trips to the Negative Zone lately?

Knowledge is power as they say.

Do it. the worste that can happen is you spend a couple of thousand in the first year and then realise it is not what you want to do.

Go for it I say!

A BComm degree through Unisa? You should definitely do another degree.

Have a BSc in Computer Science and Applied math, would suggest you do both if you can. Went on to do my hons in comp sci, but there is definitely benefit in knowing app math when doing comp sci.

Do some online course (e.g. Khan academy). If you don't have a passion for it, it's not going to be fun. If you do have fun, and the online courses go well, then consider it.

do it do it do it. If I had the passion and brain power to study further I would have.

Remember some day when you are extremely well off , all these studies would have paid off. I am pretty content with becoming the everyday norm of a person who dies working. Damn this thread....

Lots of people do Hon straight after a degree, they aren't crazy...well not very much anyway.

I'd love to start a degree in History one day, once I'm done with my PG's :) I think its just for the love of knowledge.
