What was the cost if you don't mind..?

Everything came to R8575. I approached a few other places and got similar quotes.

It took them about 3 hours to build it - they arrived with the cut pieces. I was watching, and though I could have attempted it myself, I have none of the tools, and it would not have come out so perfect and clean.

You just need a drill, drill bit for pilot holes, an adapter to put a driver bit in the drill for driving the screws in, tape measure for making sure things are square before locking it in place with the backboard for which you need a hammer.. basic tools which really should be in every household..

the rest is just patience and a good helping hand to keep everything tight and aligned while drilling and screwing..

If you were up to doing it yourself, the material cost would have been roughly 2k..

Just wanted to updated this thread:

I went with GT Cupboards, they were very quick and did an excellent job.

Here's a pic of the completed cupboard with the render on the TV beside the real thing.

That's not the inside. The double doors close the right side. The left side are open shelves.

Yeah I looked at getting a nice drill, plus other tools. If I'm buying a drill, I'd rather get a nice one with a battery pack etc.

The tools would have added another R1500 - R2000 to the cost. Also, the materials cost was closer to R4k from the various quotes I got.

All in all, I'd much rather pay the extra and not have to bother with the whole thing lol.

One person was from Buco in Seapoint, and the materials were from Timbercity and they sent separate invoices for the materials and labor. The quote for glossy was about R4k more than matte from Timbercity.

Ah okay.. that makes sense then..

Look for board supply and cutting companies next time you feel like doing something like this.. Davidson's boards is a favourite of mine..

Lol, it's not that simple. And can turn out being a lot more expensive in messing it up and time.

I think OP made it clear in his first post he does not intend to make it himself.

But yes. DIY could potentially save a couple of buck. Or not.
