Help me out here guys, I need a new contract and have the following requirements:

- 150 to 250 sms per month
- 250mb data per month
- 100-200 included minutes per month
- Post-pay, I cannot afford to run out of minutes/airtime and not be able to make a call unless I topup

The type of phone it comes with is relatively unimportant as I will be using my own droid. A Symbian 3 or droid would be nice though as I would like to pass it on to family.

Is it possible to get a contract which covers those points and goes for <R300pm?

any reason for the high SMS usage?

Maybe the MTN anytime 100 iPhone special, but ask them to upgrade it to 350.

No, you only get 50 sms' with that. Add an extra sms bundle?

Edit: Sorry didn't see the <R300 mention.

Hmm, I don't know then.

Does it work a different phone? No way in hell I am using an iPhone (lets not go there). Also, that's quite a bit more expensive from what I recall (+-R400)

Interesting.. do you know if it is possible to get a no phone discount on CellC. In that case I could look at their *whatever is is that allows you to have minutes to other networks*chat contract and add some sms and data (which are cheaper than MTN).

Ja,the Iphone on R350 was around R419, that is why I edited my previous post. You can try to take it with a cheap phone and then add a databundle to it. I wanted to take the nokia C something something on it and it would have cost R179 or something like that. don't know how much 200 megs costs.

maybe go for mtn anytime 300 - on that you can get just about any phone and includes R300 air time and 50 SMS thats about R300 if you add a Data and sms bundle then its going way over,

I am not affiliated with Cell C, MTN or any other service provider except for Vodacom SP. You will have to enquire with them regarding their deal.

ocleroux works for vodacom, so I wouldn't ask him to much about that.

If I were you and if you have cellc 3G coverage I would get a data the 2 gig deal one and put it in my phone. It is R999 for the sim. I don't know if you can add a extra contract on that sim too, but I would bold on a active chat 100 on it.

Seriously though, with a R300 limit I don't think you will be able to get all of that though.

That would be amazing, if it is possible. R999 for the data, add the active chat and a sms bundle for R50 or so. Should be way under R300! Happy not to get a phone in that case.

I don't know if you can though, but that is what I would try to do.

Had a look at CellC's website. Maybe I should get the ValueChat contract, hopefully one can get it on the data sim - rates are pretty cheap then add an sms bundle at R75.

What about the Red Bull Mobile specials?

Prices are tempting. Do they work on any phone and can the phone received be used with a different Sim though? I also am worried about the quality of service

I was just about to recommend the Red Bull Mobile specials. The phones are unlocked so no stressing.
