I need a will...

Just remember the banks will give you a "free" will, but require that you include them as executor - which gets them a healthy chunk of the estate later.
 
I used an adviser who will be the executor for now... but kept it simple by having nominated beneficiaries in life insurance policies outside of the estate. It will only form part of the estate if myself and my wife both die.

Advisers are in it for the money, so would push you in a direction which benefits them. You need to do your own homework.

Clearly there's a lot to think about with this process.

At this point in time, I have neither a life insurance policy (no fixed assets, but a lot of specialist assets) nor a will, so I need to sit down and put some serious planning into this.
