I need advice/help with my pool...

I had the exact same problem about 2 months ago. Turns out my pump was worn out(Over 14 years old). I couldn't for the hell of me get the Kreepy to move for more than 10 minutes without stopping. I thought the pump suction was fine until I got a guy out to come check.

Was worn out. It sucked like hell on backwash but Filter just wasn't cutting it. So got a new one and it's moving like a mad thing now, I was seriously surprised with getting a new pump as I thought pumps lasted a lot longer.

I don't know how old yours is but it is something to consider and I don't regret getting a new one.

Well, yesterday I removed the cap that screws onto the outlet vent and the cleaner worked for about 45 minutes before crapping again. The pump, as far as I know, was replaced about 8 years ago. It seems like I will have to get a professional out to check the pool/pump.

I gather your location may be Northern suburbs C.T. from the NS next to your location , if so contact Monte Vista Pools, just behind fruit and veg, they did an exellent job WRT my pool, and installing Salt Water Chlorinator.

I have had someone repair my "inlet leak" a year ago, and I also replaced the filter sand a week ago, still the Barracuda will not go. It works for a minute then stops. I removed the inlet direction nozzle, no change. There are lot of small bubbles entering the pool, but the stream is STRONG. It sucks very strong at the weir too.

So I followed the advice on this thread and tried to run the P.O.S. on bypass. Guess what, it worked. Switched back to filter after a few minutes and now the Barracuda works as it should. All I can think is: There must have been an airlock or something somewhere in the plumbing that was cleared when I ran it on bypass for a few minutes.
