Hi guys.. Been experiencing slow speeds lately. I'm trying to ascertain whether my ADSL line or my ISP is at fault. Is anyone willing to let me use their details just for a few minutes, so that I can verify?
 
Don't have to lend, else i would.

Also...telkom has a guest a/c that will let you do a local speedtest at least

Strange OK. You can try axxess , afrihost or webafrica too. They all have freebies.

b.t.w I've been renting hosting and domains from Gridhost for years now with credit card without any problems. But I see your point why give them details for a free account.

I'm already with WA... that's why I wanna try another ISP to see if it's ISP related etc. I managed to sign up a trial account with MWEB. Will see how that goes.

Try Afrihost, to see if they are having horrible speeds.

Do me a favour and get into contact with Crystal Web [shaun or paul] and they will get the support team to monitor your line for free and throw in a free GB account [all runs on IS backbone].

Everyone else needs you to have an account with them to even remotely get some awesome tech support imo.

Hop onto their live chat and let Crystalweb on the forum know who you are so they follow up.

/am not shamelessly advertising but saying it as it is :D.

Why not just grab the free accounts from Web Africa and Afrihost?

It's pretty obvious why they need payment details. It's way too easy to create 10 free email addresses to get 10 free accounts.

Anyone that doesn't do anything to stop that abuse is retarded.
