Hi Guys,

Please can someone help me. Apologies if these are stupid questions, but i am doing things out of my scope of knowledge.

I have bought a IP Camera and PoE switch and I am trying to connect to the camera but I do not know how to configure the PoE switch.

Main Gateway: Synology RT2600ac (IP 10.0.0.1)
PoE Switch: Netgear GS110TPv3 (IP 10.0.0.10 connected to main gateway by port 8 and camera connected to port 1)
IP Camera: Hikvision DS-2CD2745FWD-IZS (IP????)

I can login into the PoE switch and it sees the IP camera, but I have no idea how to give it an IP Address and login to it?

I can only access the camera via the PoE switch as I don't have a seperate power supply for it.

How do I configure the PoE switch so i can access the IP Camera?

The IP camera is assigned a default IP address from the factory.. for hikvision, this is typically 192.168.1.64 but, could also be different.. you need to access the IP camera at that IP address from a web browser, where you can then configure it have the same IP range as your network..

Since you only have the switch, you would have to change the switch to match the camera IP range, then change your laptop/pc IP address to match the camera range and you should then be able to access the camera..

can i not just get the switch route to that IP? i don't want to change my IP range going to stuff up my whole network.

To view and configure the camera via a LAN, you need to connect the network
camera in the same subnet with your computer, and install the SADP or iVMS-4200
software to search and change the IP of the network camera.

No, a switch is not a router.. you use a router to route between different IP address ranges..

If you don't want to change the switch details, you'd have to buy a power supply or a suitable PoE injector to power the camera and then connect to it directly from PC/laptop..

meh. ok

connect the camera and your PC to the switch, change the ip address of the camera to your current ip range once done and bob should be your aunty.

Since we are discussing hikvision cameras, has anyone installed a ipcamera with two way audio ?
I have hikvision ipcameras for perimeter monitoring, would like one inside to use as a nanny cam.
I have a chinese camera with two way audio at the moment.
