Good day

I am planning on buying a Nvidia GTX 980 But i dont know if my computer will be compatible, could you please have a look and tell me if it would.

My Specs :

P8 Z 77-v LX Mother Board
Intel Core i7 3.4 Ghz
16 GB ram
Nvidia Gefource GTX650

Please could you have a look and let me know thanks :)

What PSU are you running? It should be compatible.

EDIT:

Power Supply Requirements for a single GeForce GTX 980
• NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. (Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz 130 Watt TDP processor.)
• the power supply must also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 38 Amps or greater
• two 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. There are some non-reference design cards that require one 75 Watt 6-pin and one 150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors or two 150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

EDIT 2:
The only important thing to consider is the power supply and airflow. You need to have a PSU that can give a constant power output at 500W or higher, depending on your build.
You need two 6-ping cables, which is one more than the GTX650 needed. I had the issue that one of my machines did not have two, I had to get a molex-> 6 pin connector. The power rating was more than enough though.

psu is fine, the rest will be fine too.
Enjoy the new card.

lets not forget the length of this card.. it comes in at almost 27cm.. so you need to make sure from the back of your case, your expansion slot, to the uprights where your hdd mount, you have at least 27cm space.. bearing in mind to allow some room to remove hdd if there are any mounted in line with the gfx card..

Hey do you think i would have enough space ? i have a aerocool xpredator case

6 pin and 8 pin
not two 6 pins.

edit: nvm thought ti

Anyways which branded GTX980 you getting exactly?

In any case that power supply you posted has 2 x 8pins, which can be turned into 6 pins so doesn't matter, the PSU will support all configs.

You're good to go but a 980ti would be a better buy :D

Everyone seems to be going for the ti, but that also means a lot of people getting rid of their 980's, so bargain hunting time for the others.

A new one costs around R8000, that means secondhand ones gonna start going for R7000 and maybe even less. Still better than R12k which gonna be normal retail.

Will be more than enough space, i had a xpredator case and it was quite big.:D

Hi there

I had a look, i dont have the Cube, i have either the X1 or the Original Design, so it is kinda big and heavy to carry around

There shouldn't be any problem regarding whether or not your GPU will fit. If you have the X1 it should fit okay. What brand of 980 are you planning on getting? I agree with Ponder, if you can, maybe save up a little more and the the 980ti instead?
