Help need PLS

I need help on starting a dc++ server for a LAN, It is a big LAN and the people are asking for it.

If any one can help me in the write direction or to where i can find the server or guide to download PLS

I need help.:o

Is it right to want to configure a dc++ server? What are the philosophical implications of a big LAN?

The server might be suffering from a god complex?

What are the implications of having a server anyway, aren't we all supposed to be equal. :D Servers are just there to oppress other PC's. :p

help

Where can i download this Tru YnHub! for dc++ server

You could steal the OCDC++ server :p

Its used at OC (Organised Chaos LAN) and works pretty well. But I think that would be stealing.. unless they don't mind. You could ask the developers at the oc.co.za forum.

If you ran Linux Ubuntu apt-get install opendchub . I think most DC servers run on Linux. It is much easier to install software in Linux.

So you are encouraging PC communism (AKA Peer-to-Peer networks)? As we have seen with communist governments in the past, communism (and hence P2P) cannot work.

Some PCs will start sharing more than others in the network, thus creating a network in which, as in Orwell's Animal Farm, "all [PC's] are equal, but some are more equal than others.

How will we prevent this from happening? Start imposing sharing limits? With what? Servers? Autocratic, oprresive servers!

No, my friend, P2P is not the way! :D
