After spending half the morning reading and playing with settings to make route sentry work I came to the conclusion I did not know what I was doing:confused: and that I need help.

I have a Marconi Permium combo modem set on rfc1483-0 (bridged)
2 connections: Telkom Local and Telkom International
and one route sentry installed.

help would geatly be appreciated because our international account is almost capped and I can't have that now.

Hi there ! I know how you feel man, I tried to start off my ADSL experience with a router that I thought worked (it came from the UK with settings for PPPoA and I could not for the life of me get settings for PPPoE for it, which is what we use in SA)

Anyway, I eventually (after days and quite a few $$$) got everything going, with RouteSentry as well. So tell me, you say you have Telkom Local and Telkom International, are these two physically separate accounts (with two different usernames and passwords) or are they one of these TelkomInternet accounts with x GB blended plus 3x GB local after cap ?

I think doing what Surv0 said would be best, to do it do the following:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel ->Network Connections then right click on "Local Area Connection" (or whichever device you installed RASPPPoE on) and select "Properties".

Keep it under the "General" tab, and look for "PPP over Ethernet Protocol" in the list. Select it, and click on "Properties" just below the list. Go to the "Advanced" tab and set "Number of lines (WAN Endpoints)" to 2.

Click OKs and Applys where necessary, then go back to "Network Connections", right click again on the device on which RASPPPoE is installed and click "Repair".

If you have already done this, or doing this does not work; then tell me what error message you are getting or where things aren't working !

PS IF you have not installed RASPPPoE yet, have a look at www.raspppoe.com, download it and follow the instructions they give; they are very well written and easy to use. You will not be able to use RouteSentry without it !

Remember that you MUST restart your PC for the WAN Endpoint change to take effect!
