I need new tyres!!

Ok, so I am at the point where I need new tyres. I have been phoning around, and its scary the prices that they are asking. I have been offered the firenza ST08 at R950 ... but not sure about this tyre.
The second best was the bridgestone MY01(215/45/17) for R1100, but its not the same size as my car takes(205/50/17), but the guy says that it will be fine and is practically the same thing!!!
After reading some reviews, I was thinking of going for the bridgestone adrenaline @ R1300 ... but I have to wait 2 weeks for them to get them in stock.
Now, I don't know anything about tyres other than I need them
So any help in determining a good tyre will be appreciated!!

Try Fulda tires (www.fulda.com) - great tire for a great price - I think they are distributed through Good Year dealers (try Hi-Q).

thats still cheap for a tyre, the low profile tyre of a jaguar for ex, they are like 3 - 4 grand a pop

yup .. per tyre .... and I also asked them if it was per tyre ... cause some quotes were in the 3-4 grand a tyre!!! ... so, guess I'm also a bit of a noob when it comes to tyres

Heh, a friend replaced the rears on his XKR the other day. R9500. Each.

OP: Check out Falken as well. Awesome tires at a great price. Paid just under R1000/tire where all the other guys were R1500+.
