I need some Technical details behind changing of PROXY, please.

Good day everyone.

I have search the FORUMs, but can not get to the specifics behind this...

My scenario:
1. I have my own proxy server on a dedicated 256k line that manages 100+ email and http clients, using a LINUX server. This connection has it's own Cisco router.
2. I have 7 ADSL clients throughout South Africa using PROXY+ (http://www.proxyplus.cz) as a email client. (These clients are all XP users with +/- 5-7 users on the LAN.)

I need to know, on the ADSL client side, how to change the default (transparant SAIX) proxy, to the proxy on my dedicated 256k line.

What I do not want to run is a client, but rather how to do this physically (by using the "cmd" command prompt) on the XP machines.

What I do not need is to know how to use P2P SW, as this technology is not in use on these clients...

The transparent proxy does not exist. Well - what I mean is that you cannot do anything about that, it's handled by SAIX's routing, and you cannot bypass it, unless you want to "tunnel" past it using a port other than port 80 for HTTP requests.

Put - proxyplus is stackable isnt it? i.e. You can configure proxyplus to get it's data from another proxyplus proxy on any port you want.

So - stack the client's proxyplus's to get from a proxyplus that you've installed on the 256 line. Local routing should not use the SAIX transparent proxy server, so it should work fine, and international users will brobablee be using a transparent proxy on their isp's side, which you can do nothing about.

Otherwise, setup a VPN and force all the clients to use the same VPN, but that's going to waste bandwidth.
