I need to know if I'm right

13th of November I handed in my notice
18th of November my boss said he'll offer me a deal to work from South Africa for them and pay me 5000 AED a month, which would mean my loans are covered and I only work 1.5 weeks for them.

13th December my months notice is out

He still acts as if he's doing me this huge ****ing favor by "considering" the contract (which is a 14 page mother****er I setup with a laywer buddy of mine). I gave this contract to him on the 4th.

Now suddenly he's like "Oh I will accept your resignation but I won't be blackmailed in signing the contract" and "you're being stupid and cutting your nose off to spite your face" after I've done whatever humanly possible to get him the information he requested and the umpteenth time I've explained the same ****ing situation to him AGAIN in the last 5 months.

So I told him I'm leaving Dubai next week already. (This prompted his reply)

In what WORLD does he live in where, when I give him a months notice, that he decides "not to accept it" and expects me to stay here for longer than required?

The deal I chizzled out for him is pretty sweet, it saves them 14500 AED (That's roughly R36000) a month and they then utilize me the ENTIRE MONTH EXCLUSIVELY like they do now. Nothing will change, I would just not be under their employ anymore.

Am I right? Or is this dude living in some dream world?

Or am I wrong? And the boss can decide to ignore and not accept my resignation?
 
Trust me I'm on the right side of the law. It's just seriously... last week he told me "Oh well we'll consider the contract after Xmas as I'm sure..." and before he could finish I was like "Well here is the contract"

I never agreed to stay on for longer than the months notice I gave him. But he keeps saying I can leave when the client is happy or talks about January?

wtf? Seriously. Even if he doesn't choose to use me (which would be cutting his own nose because his remaining 3 clients will walk) I don't care? a months notice is a months notice.
 
Yep, just needed to hear that I'm not going crazy and that in the real world I'm legally not bound to them on Sunday. For now I'm going to work through everything like I should and give him "time scales" as he wants it.

Seriously. They could use me the entire month if they wanted to and save themselves a crap load of money in doing so... I don't get how math and logic goes above his head.

I'm pretty sure this puts me off in trying to break into the UK market and I would just love going back to SA where real people live (well.... "real" ones)
 
Go and have a personal chat with him maybe, leave all emotion out of it and try to help him understand!

Trust me I tried doing that. I don't take emotion to **** like that.

Let's just say that if he had a broken leg, not even a wheelchair would help him get around (understand)
 
No he's not.

It doesn't matter what tool I use to help him understand (aka, wheel chair for broken leg is overkill because you can use crutches), he won't.

That's one of the biggest reasons I quit. Because no matter what I say, they just do their own thing, and end up blaming me anyway. Like last week, prime example, told me that I should be the one doing the invoicing to clients because it's IT related (like we don't have a ****ing accounts department... anyway...)

So I did just that. Then they had a huge problem with the cost and the invoice and bla bla bla. Short story long, I told them everything they needed to know before hand, they said "go ahead" and I did. Now he wants several things for me to prove **** and I'm like "Wait, I thought you said I should manage everything and make the decision myself? Now suddenly I shouldn't?"

Anyway...
