I need your oldish hardware please - Cape Town

So I have an AMD X2 3800+ and I though might ask if any one in Cape Town has a 5000+ to 6000+ cpu for sale, as I really want to give me a PC a little bit more oomph. It has to be an AM2 socket chip as my board can't do AM2+/AM3, MSI decided not to do a bios update.

I would also go for an intel mobo + chip, its its and E8000 series or better a one of the Q series of cpu's

Please PM me if you can help. I really need to get a few more FPS out of COD.

I have also been looking for the 5000/6000+ chips as I have an older AM2 socket motherboard lying here, but to no avail. They are scarce as hen's teeth, and the folks that do have them ask quite a bit of them pricewise.

Have a look on the carbonite.co.za classifieds, I saw a q6600 (i think) system for sale there for not a bad buck. Or else look on the classifieds here, you might find someone willing to sell their rig

I've got a number of spare CPU's at home, but I think they're all socket 939's - I may have one AM2 CPU, but can't recall what apeed it was.
Will check later and let you know...

- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (ADA3200DAA4BW) - Socket 939, 1 core, 67w, K8, Venice, Stepping E6, CPU only
- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (ADA3200DAA4BP) - Socket 939, 1 core, 67w , K8, Venice, Stepping E3, CPU+Heatsink+fan
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (ADO5600IAA5DO) - Socket AM2/940-pin, 2 cores, 65w, K8, Brisbane, Stepping G2, CPU+Heatsink+fan

All v/good and never over-clocked, tweaked, dropped, etc...

Ta, it's for a mates pc and he currently has a 3200+ in there, the X2 5600+ won't work.
