I really want a VR One

I really want a VR One but am not sure what the best headset is to get with it. I see MSI is Vive partnered but I really like the built in earphones on the Occulus.

Also anyone got any idea when the VR one will be in stock in SA ?

Not sure, but in terms of true VR experience, HTC Vive seems to be the best (http://www.wareable.com/headgear/the-best-ar-and-vr-headsets).

I'm also curious when these VR will arrive in SA, when it arrives, it's time for a massive upgrade

VR demands are quite high from what I heard , you'll need a GTX 1060 minimum to run the games smoothly but I know that the GTX 1050 is coming out soon which might make cost of ownership a bit easier if it can run VR

@ Dragonfist what graphics card does the VR one come with, must be 1060 or higher?

The SteamVR Performance test on my old i5 2500K with GTX 970, gives 7.3 / high quality - 100% above 90fps (~120fps).

You can buy the HTC Vive and ship it via MyUS for R16'000. [ $800x14x1.154 + $200x14 (shipping) ].
Excluding a $100 Microsoft gift voucher.

I am considering getting it on a trip abroad.... just not sure about whether ICASA certification applies and whether it could be confiscated.

I thought someone could tell me... It may be only required when importing for resale? Might also be SABS certification instead.

All I could find is that in the USA anything you import needs FCC certification.

ICASA certification only applies to devices that transmit or receive data wirelessly, like cellphones.
