So I have been shopping around for a good quality drone, one that I can link to and control from a smartphone as well. Takealot has a few drone options, but not the one I am specifically interested in( i-sight quadrone)
I managed to find this site that supplies the drone : http://www.egadgets.co.za/product/quadrone-sight-drone/

Does anyone have any experience with this Drone, or recommend any other drones that can link to a smartphone?
Also, Any idea why many local suppliers do not stock the i-sight drones? I dont want to buy internationally and wait 3 months for it. Need it for my Sons birthday in a few weeks time. Thanks

Would suggest autel or Dji, I fly Dji and it's a been a pleasure. Autel has great reviews and can be had in a orange color.

Thanks , will have a look. Any local suppliers by any chance?

Have you considered building a drone together? You wont get all the functionality initially from the custom build but I think that could be a tonne of fun!

That sounds quite difficult? do drone kits exist or will we need to put it all together from scratch? :)

It has been something I wanted to do for a while. Depending on the kit the only skills required are basic soldering and using a computer to calibrate the flight controller. The rest is basic screw driver work, and some fiddling.

Check out this page. Might give you a better idea of whether this is within your skill set or willing to learn skill set?

It seems daunting at first because there is so much information available but as soon as you understand the basics this appear much easier.

Awesome. Thanks for this. It seems like an interesting project for my Son and myself.
I will do more research this weekend.
