I-Soft ADSL?

Sorry guys, this was ment for the ADSL forum ...

ic please remove this thread from here!

Sorry about that!

Had a test acount - just mail Aubrey for one - for 24 hours. Same as saix (are actally on saix backbone). I'm considering switching over to them if UUNET doesn't shape up their service in the next few days. There is only one thing worrying me: If they are on SAIX backbone - how UNCAPPED are they - maybe the same as AYCE?? I'm afraid they'll cap me when the see that I do 90Gb a month! :)

lol most sane people *would* cap someone who does 90 gigs a month..

no way, I will blow up someone if I am on uncapped account and they cap me!

AYCE has 30GB cap! It is not uncapped! They say it on their web site, although the name of the company is a bit misleading ...

Do you know what other packages do i-Soft offer? I don't see any details on their site.

Please guys anyone who uses this service let me know how it is. I dont want to get into another UUNet problem! Don't tell me about test accounts, UUNet was great when I tested and now they are useless! Please let us all know how it goes after a while so we can see if they are not just another UUNet type of offering.(Over subscribing to the point where there is no service!)

Thanx

Hi MaD - UUNET did not cap me...... yet :))

well we have 2 accounts here in Newcastle from them. Was on UUnet - they suk. these people are fast, helpfull and did i say fast?

lets hope that they dont shoot themeselves in the foot by capping like AYCE

keep it up people

Can someone clarify if I'm reading this correctly. It's an UNCAPPED account on the SAIX backbone?

Wow  sounds cool, wish their site would give me more info though. E-mailed aubrey for a test account now. Site says from R680 a month? Not bad.

I highly doubt its on the saix network, there is no word regarding uncapped packages from saix. With the proposed cap coming, I doubt it heavily.

Could you please provide us with more information, ie. backbone, shaped/unshaped, local peering, "really uncapped? Can I pull maximum line speed the whole month?" Why is the offering exactly the same price as uunet uncapped ex vat ?

Personally from the little information I have, this is uunet uncapped offering till proven wrong :)

Answers would be appreciated.

Clipse - as for a test account. It is defniteley not UUNET (I have WA UUNET and te test account from I-soft is not the same, much faster). According to Aubrey it is a SAIX account and I asked him if the will cap me if I dl 24x7x30 at full speed and he simply replied - "no we won't". May'be I should try them for a month before I drop UUNET (because of the no-signups from UUNET)?

Contract?

Do you have to sign a 12 or 24 month contract when you sign up or is it a month to month (30 day notice) account?

AFAIK they work on a month-to-month basis

interesting, suppose its another trial and error, report back corporal :)

Wow, got my e-mail with my test account. Haven't tried it yet (will in a bit), I asked if I had to sign any contracts and they said No, its month-to-month. Will get back to you all about speed etc.
