Had a test acount - just mail Aubrey for one - for 24 hours. Same as saix (are actally on saix backbone). I'm considering switching over to them if UUNET doesn't shape up their service in the next few days. There is only one thing worrying me: If they are on SAIX backbone - how UNCAPPED are they - maybe the same as AYCE?? I'm afraid they'll cap me when the see that I do 90Gb a month!
Please guys anyone who uses this service let me know how it is. I dont want to get into another UUNet problem! Don't tell me about test accounts, UUNet was great when I tested and now they are useless! Please let us all know how it goes after a while so we can see if they are not just another UUNet type of offering.(Over subscribing to the point where there is no service!)
I highly doubt its on the saix network, there is no word regarding uncapped packages from saix. With the proposed cap coming, I doubt it heavily.
Could you please provide us with more information, ie. backbone, shaped/unshaped, local peering, "really uncapped? Can I pull maximum line speed the whole month?" Why is the offering exactly the same price as uunet uncapped ex vat ?
Personally from the little information I have, this is uunet uncapped offering till proven wrong
Clipse - as for a test account. It is defniteley not UUNET (I have WA UUNET and te test account from I-soft is not the same, much faster). According to Aubrey it is a SAIX account and I asked him if the will cap me if I dl 24x7x30 at full speed and he simply replied - "no we won't". May'be I should try them for a month before I drop UUNET (because of the no-signups from UUNET)?
Wow, got my e-mail with my test account. Haven't tried it yet (will in a bit), I asked if I had to sign any contracts and they said No, its month-to-month. Will get back to you all about speed etc.
