I've had ADSL since June, and it seems to me that there has been a genuine improvement in the last 3 months.
- In the beginning, I'd get cut-off every 2 weeks or so. Now it almost never happens anymore.
- Speed seems up, bearing in mind I only use it in the evening and on weekends. Before it frequently happened that things almost came to a standstill
- I am now capped, but unlike before, where I got absolutely nowhere, I can actually download my mail from overseas and I can do basic surfing. It's very slow, but it does work.
Just my 2c.

I too have noticed a marked improvement in ADSL (though only this December month, which has me fearing that this could be a once-off Telkom christmas freebie), I've been able to use the Internet even while capped without having to go through a proxy (and when I do unproxy'd capped ends up being faster than proxy'd), and I have been able to actually use my ADSL for things other than plain old browsing (such as FTP downloads, video, etc.) at really good speeds.

I have also noticed that the cap enforcement may be erratic. Today it might be slow, then tomorrow I get high speeds at times, then the next day slow again. Somtimes Kazaa downloads are fast, other times slow, then fast again. I think it may be just because internet traffic usage by corporates is very low this time of year because most people aren't at work. At my work, I can now download from a local ftp site at 1.3Mbits, but during the year, I get just a couple of KB (same site).

Yes, I agree, Telkom did improve a bit... their customer service (Technical Support) became friendlier and faster action were seen.

Now I only need the disconnections to stop! I get disconnected every few minutes / seconds on some days.

They get no fault on my line though....

Decided to cancel and go back to R7 infinate call rather...
