I signed up with Openweb early hours of the morning, for their uncapped account R539.

I was under the impression that they resell mwebs uncapped accounts...yet when i run a speedtest IS comes up as the ISP? Shouldn't this be Mweb Connect, or I a missing something?

Speeds have also been dog slow. So far, I am very disappointed.

They resell both, you can choose which you want. Perhaps contact them as see if they can change you over.

They should also make it clear on their website which is which.

Thanks I will contact them.

Although I just had a look now...when I go through the client portal to create a new adsl account, there is only one 4mb uncapped R539 option. How do you choose between the two?

Hes talking **** mweb only resell there own, and afrihost resell IS. Theres no choice to choose between the providers.

You can't choose on the site as far as i can tell, you will have to contact keoma directly.

..and ignore semaphore, he has been trolling on the forum for days.

OpenWeb today announced that it has partnered with MWEB and will be offering uncapped ADSL services starting from R219 per month.

I also signed up for this OpenWeb IS 4Mbps uncapped. Much better ping compared to Afrihost, and no throttling (according to Keoma).

I also signed with them and started using my account in the early hours of the morning. I got terrible speeds with torrents and on the IS news server, my torrents seemed to pick up at around 7am this morning though. I also got got dc'ed constantly in WoW :(

Sorry for being another company on this thred but wanted to clarify for everyone...
You can resell anything, but both the Mweb service and commission structure they offer is not really worth selling as there is a cheaper option the reseller can work with - the IS Uncapped Basic for R199 and R499.
Either that or they are buying from IS per GB and shaping and throttling their own connections - Afrihost.
However, everyone can sell all 3 accounts quite happily. We have just chosen the IS Uncapped Basic as we think will win out as the ebst quality as the entire SA internet readjusts to the new line speeds and throughput.

Regarding the line and service quality on the IS uncapepd Basic accounts, they have sorted out some errors this morning and connecitons and speeds are back on track.

Cheers P.

Dude seriously stop being a cheap skate and go sign up with atraweb. IS news server is just slow no matter who you use.

Killa, I've only just signed with OpenWeb last night, I'm still looking into the different payment options for Astraweb.

All I'm doing is giving my experiences to the non-cheapskates, those that wont go with Astraweb, and to the WoW players. There havn't been many posts about people's openweb uncapped experiences.

Openweb seem to be putting their clients onto the internet soutions accounts because they make more money off them. Its a lot of nonsense really, because they originally were quoted in the media as being mweb resellers. Their price of R219 is very high for an IS reseller. They should clearly stipulate between the IS account and Mweb accounts.

If you phone them they say you are on mweb, and when you do a speedtest your find out you're actually on IS.

@killa, the IS accounts (384kbps) via openweb are giving me less than 0.7K with astraweb.

I have always been with Openweb and when I heard that they were offering uncapped I jumped on the bandwagon. After 4 days I am totally disappointed. My browsing is non existent and you tube buffers for up to 20 minutes for a 1 minute video. I can hardly open websites and when I did a speed test I was browsing at 0.16 megs a second, this is disgusting. What is the problem?
