I want to try out Google Chrome

:confused:I am currently using Firefox and have done for several years. I would like to use Google Drive and it seems to be integrated in Chrome. Can I run my PC with both so that I can check out which I prefer?
 
OP, for me, the only reason to have Firefox was when it was pretty much the only alternative to IE. Chrome > Firefox in just about every way IMO... Also, you can run as many browsers as you like, no problem. That said, Safari beats 'em all.

Interesting, I'd like to know as well. Perhaps he is talking about add-ons, of which the only one I use is Adblock Plus, and the one in Chrome that brings the scrollbar arrows back.

On my netbook I have accidenly clicked on the Use Windows 8 Mode option, and Chrome crashed, because the netbook's display is only 1024x600. I connected it to my TV, tried to undo the change, and was unsuccessful. Now Chrome crashes every time I open it, and nothing I do will fix it. So I've uninstalled it and I am using FireFox now :(

Chrome/Firefox/IE11 are all good browsers and having to use all on a daily basis I will still always prefer Chrome for a bunch of reasons. Obviously BossMan is free to his own opinion on what browser best suites him but saying Chrome is completely useless is just just a baseless statement.

Delete Google from %appdata% and reinstall
 
I have Chrome, Firefox, Opera and IE installed on my system since I need it for certain web development testing and debugging.
  • IE is useless, DON'T USE IT!
  • Opera is really nice and all, but it gets out performed by the other browsers i.m.o.
  • Firefox is actually pretty damn good, with little memory usage
  • Chrome is beast. Excellent integration with GMail, Drive, YouTube, etc. with better performance than the rest, but be warned Chrome is excellent at eating all your memory so if your PC doesn't have quite a lot of RAM stick to Firefox
 
I dumped Chrome yesterday because it has horrible, horrible high DPI support. Chrome looks blurry and acts funny on my Yoga 2 Pro with a 3200x1600 screen (the last straw was when autocomplete results were empty). Firefox looks crisp and clean and everything just works. And so I've decided to go back to Firefox as my main browser. I don't understand how the folks at Google are struggling so much with high DPI.
 
Firefox for me. One of the main reasons is Zotero, a fantastic research tool for building topic-based libraries with the capability of exporting references directly into a Word document in whatever bibliographic style you choose e.g. Harvard, American Psychological Association, IEEE etc. As powerful as Endnote or Refworks, but free! Search for a registry setting called “Display1_DownScalingSupported” and change the value from 0 to 1. Restart and use 1152 x 864. Change Chrome back to desktop mode. Revert registry edit and restart.

The netbook does not support anything higher than 1024x600. It's an Asus X101CH. :o I'll try the registry modification though.
