How many of you tried this window manager?
It is not for the feint of heart, but I found that I really like it, especially if you are used to working in multiple remote ssh sessions this wm comes in quite handy using regular terminals.
Basically i3 is a tiling window manager, so you dont have to spend time resizing windows ect. It also however makes heavy use of the keyboard over a mouse, something I quite like. The only times I now need to use a mouse, is when I am in a browser ect.
I had LinuxMint on my laptop and wasn;t quite happy with any of the window managers, when I saw i3wm being mentioned on rackerhacker's blog, so I installed Ubuntu Minimal on my laptop, once I got a console login, to get the gui up I just did apt-get install lightdm i3 and boom I could start working from there. I find this window manager insanely fast on my core-i3 lappy, just the way I like it
So anyone else out there using it?
ps. Even though I am on Ubuntu, some interesting screenies and ideas at https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=103369&p=2
