guys,i want your opinion.if you was to buy a cpu + matching mobo, what would you guys go for?

i7-965ex cpu + dx58so mobo?

qx9775ex cpu + d5400ex(skulltrail)mobo?

e8600 cpu + best lga775 mobo?

let's hear what you've got to say..............:D:D:D:D:D:D

If it was me, E8600 or Q6600 + Gigabyte X48-DQ6 or Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 if you going DDR3...

Those other setups are far to expensive and reading what other ppl are saying the i7 and so on is "ridiculous"

Depends on your budget hey, if i was you i would consider AMD's new cpu's due to the fact they rate the cpu about as fast a qx9770 and its so much cheaper plus it overclocks nicely.

Sounds to me like money is not an issue for you, if that is case get the i7 combo but don't forget you will need expensive ddr 3 ram so make sure you add another 3k for the memory.

Killa when are you getting a Phenom ii ?

I think i have an am2 system lying around so hopefully i can drop one in and see how it goes, otherwise new system. (Phenom ii seems to klap i7 in 3dsmax rendering so i need to test it)

I am waiting for pricing hey, frontosa where suppose to make an announcement already but they are slacking :), also i may skip these cpu's and wait for the am3 versions rather because i don't want to buy a new board now and then another board and cpu later.

Good point but i do have an AM2 machine so shall get one for the hell of it i think. Strange that the 940 beats the i7 at 3dsmax renderring, makes no sense to me

Yea for you its cool because its only a cpu :), for me its a mobo as well but i mean they so cheap i might just gooi it :p

Qx where did you see that it does hey? Alot of sites are dodgy on the net i find.

This was the Toms overclocking review, it is mentioned in one of the Phenom ii threads, shall look for it quickly
