i7 980x cpu

Yes its very possible. You basically just take normal desktop components and shove them into a laptop. Then you hope that you have cut enough vents into it to cool everything.

any other manufacturers that are doing this and reliability issues? they're claiming to have model with the i7 980xm chip in...

Well that site is in chinese or something, so I cant tell. Go here and you can clearly see it does not use a 980xm, since no mobile hexacore chips exist yet in the retail world, only desktop/server versions. Check under the CPU options, they are all normal desktop CPUs. Also have a look at the pics to see how many vents they've had to cut into it to cool everything.

Dont want to know whats the price going to be on that laptops :s

30k from korea... that's why I wanted to know... have an opportunity to bring one in for myself. and before you go, what on earth you need it for... 100mb+ spreadsheet models, watching over 1000 different outputs over 50 000 simulations can cripple a system for a good couple of hours.

thanks subversion... looks like the same laptop, different branding.

Do you absolutely need it as a laptop though? A desktop will run much better/cooler and work out cheaper.

ya i thought long and hard, but i'm an actuarial consultant and part of my competitive advantage is being mobile... producing results and reports on site.
