Just get a US iTunes Account.

Jailbreak it? How would that help him get Infinity Blade? Oh, you mean to steal it? I get ya :)
 
Apple is not a policeman, and they are not trying to punish you or limit sales of Apps. They are simply working within the archaic restrictions of the content owners who sell games, music, videos etc, who don't trust South African copyright law and its enforcement. There is no reason for Apple to stop you buying via the US or any other store within the restrictions they have imposed (i.e. that you - or, to make the point, perhaps a US resident travelling - buy in the US, for example, using vouchers sold in the US). If they really wanted you not to do this, it would have been easy to restrict it, but frankly, they don't.

Sorry, but that's letting Apple off too easily. This may be true for games, but if they give a damn about the SA market there is no reason why they can't sell ebooks here. That same ebook that is sooooo hard for Apple to sell me? Amazon will sell me the exact same ebook, no problem (with a $2 surcharge, but that is a rant for another forum). How hard would it be to do a deal with Rhythm Records so that we could at least buy local music on iTunes?

If Apple cared about this market, those problems with the Film Board would be negotiated away. Face up to it: Apple does not care about South Africa.

I'm pretty sure they enjoy the 30% commission they're getting on the transaction a lot more than not getting it. I doubt they'll close any loopholes until the RIAA/MPAA and their local counterparts make them.

and jailbreak it, cydia enables you to do many many things apple won't let you.

After jailbreak, in cydia under sources add at least 5 of the best , it will give you tons of free stuff.
