iBook

If I buy a Kindle Edition of a book - will it appear on my shelf?
Do I NEED this Kindle app to read - or can I read it like my other ebook (I only have 1)?

I'm looking at this http://www.kalahari.com/books/Bylev...px?keyid=ppc&gclid=CO6Y6vyQwKwCFcwhtAodKCTHpA ... do I simply click 'download', drag it to iTunes, sync and it appears on my bookshelf?
I'm confused - Kalahari doesn't sell Kindle books - in fact the version of what you linked is a normal dead tree format - there are other links though to Adobe DRM ePub and Adobe DRM PDF versions.

Anyway - in general - Kindle books requires it's own reader software - iBooks will read most formats (excluding Kindles proprietary one) and although I cannot say for sure about Adobe DRM ePub I doubt it will work either.

First, nope, no go for Kindle books with iBooks. Kindle books are .mobi files while iBooks uses .ePub and also reads PDF files. Get yourself calibre immediately (Windows, Mac or Linux). It's fantastic and converts any format. That said, soon as you've downloaded the book it's just like you said, drag into iTunes, sync books to your iPad and read.

EDIT: Erm... That DRM thingie... Not sure where the best place to discuss that is. Here or in PD

I agree with this. Download http://calibre-ebook.com/ and use it to convert your ebook into the epub format supported by iBook.
This will work on both books published for kindle and Adobe DRM ePub

Thanks guys.

The format says : Adobe DRM ePub
