iBurst AC\DC Modem Adaptor

So coming back from holiday yesterday i powered on my desktop modem and that was followed by a bang and the burn smell,

On closer smell inspection i think its the AC\DC adaptor blew, modem seems fine.

Does iBurst sell these for replacements? or can i get and adaptor rated for 9v/1.2a output?

Yes, you can get one at the shop in William Nicol but if you find a universal with the same connector and rating, then that will work as well.

Speaking from experience, you can also feed it from a 12V 1A brick ..basically the thing that just about every desktop router uses.

Visited the Centurion Mall branch and was refereed to Hi-Fi Corp, and they had a universal one but do not think its regulated,

The link below recommends a regulated replacement alternative, will non regulated do harm?

The regulated ones are not that expensie so go that route.

Funny, I've never had a problem when feeding a UTD straight off the brick. And when you go PoE, frankly, having 12V to start off with is better.
