When will this package be available:confused: I hope that it's not three months down the line.

We will soon add a flat-rate unthrottled, uncapped after hour service which might work even better for these guys.

Prolly a VAS on top of 8/15GB package. Since 128kbps uncapped is R249, 64kbps is R199, it works out that 1024kbps uncapped should be R485 extra. Prolly looking at R1049 for 8GB + full speed uncapped a/h. 15GB + full uncapped speed a/h = R1440. I think that will cannibalise the sale of their R955 15GB accounts. Jannie Van Zyl did say that you may get spare change after R500. That R485 makes sense.

I see I'm being throttled with about 1.5GB left. If I start a resumable download and reconnect a few times, I'm not throttled again.
 
How soon is soon Jannie? It's almost February and there's still no news on this uncapped service.
 
This will most probably only be for the 15gig packages or it will have a pricing structure like the bandwidth boosters.

Something like:
Package / VAS Price
15GB / R99
8GB / R199
5GB / R299
4GB / R599
3GB / R699
2GB / R799
1GB / R899
80MB / LOLWAT
 
I'm just reviving this thread as a reminder to the powers that be that promises were made. See post number 4.
 
Well I am worried that unlimited packages will put major strain on the iBurst network as its already been doing on Screamer ADSL network, they got major issues at the moment in Screamer. If it effects my online gaming I am canceling my iBurst account, seriously.

The only constant @ Iburst is its failure to deliver what its' customers want. With the suggestions and comments by MyBB users the Iburst product development team had
their requirements analysis handed to them, yet they still FAIL.
 
I can just see Iburst shooting themselves in the foot over something like an uncapped offering. The model they seem to have will probably price full speed after hours uncapped at about R1500 while only actually running at half speed. If you're looking for a decent package from them I wouldn't hold my breathe
 
what iburst users need is simple :

An uncapped connection running at FULL speed at an affordable price that is inline with adsl pricing, if cheaper then even better. Iburst should also keep in mind that pricing is on the downward spiral right now.

no one cares about this 64kb and 128kb uncapped crap. that is the stone age :( , cant even stream local clips at that speed...
 
The problem is that it will problably be a VAS.

EG: R445 (Wireless 5) + R500 (Uncapped after hours VAS) = R945 excluding modem

R945 gets you ADSL uncapped all day including line rental.
