Iburst and CODMW2

DenSweep, didn't mean to offend you, but I will be looking for someone to test the lightening protection when/If I install the pole.If you keen I'll pay you after a successful lightening hit.
Sharkbait, they came to my place on Friday sorry, all they do is climb onto your roof with an Iburst modem and laptop to check for signal then give you a R1,150.00 quote.

Relax, was kidding! Hahahaha! But as to directional antennas, you will need Line Of Sight to the tower, otherwise your signal might end up being worse. No trees, no buildings or fat neighbors in the way!

For lightning protection, take a copper wire from the pole STRAIGHT down, wrap around top end of a copper rod (preferably longer than 1m) and donder the rod into the ground. Then, when lighting comes around, pray. Remember, a direct strike onto the pole will most likely stuff everything up anyways. If not electrical damage, the heat and physical blow will break it.

No worries mate, ya I'll cut down the forest, remove my neighbours roof and ask his wife not to sun tan naked in front of my antenna.

In order, I've found diesel kills trees, slowly, but surely, TNT for the roof and lastly, some binocs, decent camera with zoom and photobucket!
