Iburst and Linux

I dont know if the same thread was created before so i apologize if there is another thread.

I want to download linux Ubuntu and i want to go on to the internet. I have a Iburst desktop modem. I want to know if the iburst will work if i can setup a dailup account to use the iburst.??

If you are using the Ethernet connection you should just be able to set up a PPPoE connection and off you go.

If you want to use the USB connection, you'll have to download and compile a driver for your kernel, which is a bit trickier:

You should consider getting yourself a wireless router, you will not regret it.
 
i have downloaded Virtual box. I setup the linux on the virtual box and it configure the network on its own. My iburst is connected and when i was on the VM i could go into google with no troubles. So my virtual pc is on the internet.
