I am really hating iburst at the moment. All I want to do is play Final Fantasy XIV (I have early access from pre-order)
Here are my usage report from the last couple of days:
2013-AUG-21 03:56:06 - 13,826.43 MB
2013-AUG-22 03:44:01 - 10,594.07 MB
2013-AUG-23 03:39:28 - 10,402.29 MB
2013-AUG-24 03:55:52 - 10,402.29 MB
Timeline
Thursday 22-08 14:37 - Get sms with FFXIV pre-order key
Thursday 22-08 14:45 - Phone girlfriend to start downloading FFXIV - about 6.5gigs
Thursday 22-08 15:00 - Get confirmation of 24hr uncapped data purchase from iburst
Friday 23-08 Sometime - Game download finishes sometime while at work
Friday 23-08 19:00 - Start downloading 2.5gb patch for FFXIV (hate this, why can't they just include it in the orginal download - but this is a whole other gripe)
Saturday 24-08 05:55 - Error on playstation about being signed out. Check traffic logs on router to find that the traffic stopped at exactly at midnight when their network policies run. Also cannot reconnect to playstation network. phone iburst (have a heart attack when someone answers the phone)
So while chatting to the help desk person he is trying everything to blame my equipment, I'm used to this by now. I get him to check usage logs and this is where it gets interesting. I bought the 24hr uncapped at about 15:00 on thursday, but it only kicked in at 23:00 that night..... I had been downloading FFXIV since about 15:00 that means I wasted 8 hrs (don't know how much data I would of downloaded in that time) of download on my actual cap.
Why did the 24hr uncapped only kick in 8hrs later? and why doesn't the data I downloaded in that 8hrs show in my usage reports? looks like I only used 492 mb that day.
Hope this all makes sense... it's early - pre-coffee.
EDIT: Now 07:09 Saturday: Finally logged on to the PS Network and resumed download 1072mb still to go
