Hi all

A few weeks back, I purchased a Billion Wireless G ADSL Router as I wanted to go the Helkom route. I then decided against it as they wanted to charge me R1000 to install a line which I already have. I then decided to get Iburst. I signed up for the desktop modem . So far, i've been really happy with the Iburst internet offering. It's stable and fast.

Anyways, here's my question : I would like to setup Wireless Internet at my home using the Billion Wireless G router, if at all possible?

Does anyone have any idea on how to configure the network? I am technical and know my way around networks, but haven't dont something like this before.

Herewith the available Network protocols in the WAN Profile section of the router :
PPPoE (RFC2516, PPP over Ethernet)
PPPoA (RFC2864, PPP over AAL5)
Pure Bridge
PPPoE with Pass-through

Thanks

The iBurst desktop modem is basically a PPPOE bridge, so you just need to plug it into the WAN port of your wireless router, and then configure the router to connect via PPPOE to your iBurst account through the iBurst desktop modem that is connected to your WAN port.

As mentioned before, don't forget to configure your WAN connection's MTU to 1392. Your LAN mtu should be left at 1500.

Aint working

Hi all.

Thanks for the reply so far.

It seems the ADSL Router doesn't want to make the connection for me
I keep getting this error :

ADSL PPPoE 8/35 Link Down

I have chosen PPPoe connection but what must i specify for these settings : VPI / VCI ?

Also, there is another setting : Encap. method: VcMux or LLC . Which one?

Thanks
