Hey guys,

So i have one of the USB only modems and i want to share the connection through my tp-link, td-w8951nd ADSL router.

I had a plain wireless router before to do this but it packed up.

My issue starts here:

I'm using windows 8 and in the adapter settings i'm assuming i have to share my connections like the "iburst pppoe" and the "local area connection" with the subheading "iburst terminal".
for some annoying reason i cant share any of them without an "unspecified error" dialog box popping up.
This error even comes up when i try to share my normal "ethernet" connection that the router is connected to...

This problem is quite perplexing and i'm struggling to find any information on how to resolve this..

When you enable internet connection sharing on Windows, your computer becomes the DHCP server for your network.
Try disabling the DHCP server on your router.

Ok managed to get sharing to work, had to force windows firewall to run in services.msc.

disabled DHCP on the router and set the static ip's in the range of what the iburst modem is assigning but still no luck...

You should not need static IP addresses, the Windows computer running internet connection sharing should be assigning addresses.

What range of IP addresses is your iBurst modem assigning?

I ended up buying Connectify to share my iBurst over my Tp-link router's wifi. I just couldn't get it to work in Windows 8 over normal ICS.
